Every Creator Needs A Community

The creator economy is both wild and lonely at the same time.

On one hand, I feel so lucky to be living in this moment where there are so many opportunities for creators. And on the other hand, it's an extremely lonely place that's easy to quit

Believe it or not, there were many times I wanted to give up over the last months. What gets me through every time is my crew. And maybe, just maybe I might have succeeded sooner if I had found my people sooner.

Now I've experienced the power of community I want to create the kind of community that I needed. A community of people who are committed to practicing the craft each day, supporting their fellow creators and having some fun doing it!

This is why I've established The Daily Creator Collective.

I've been going back and forth on the issue of whether I will charge for it or not. So I want to talk quickly why I decided to make it a paid community.

If we're friends on Twitter you're already in my crew. I still promise to give generously publicly. You can always catch me on Twitter, my DM's are constantly open and I'll quite happily jump on a zoom call with anyone who asks.

Communities Take Commitment. In order to prioritise the time I spend in the collective, I need to charge a little for it. It takes time, management & a commitment on both our parts to keep this collective going. You can choose to be part of the community for a small contribution a month. Or a little more to be in the inner circle. But please reach out to me if your circumstance doesn't allow either of these.

I hope you'll come join us 👉 Daily Creator Collective

Social Media Is Not Your Enemy

Social media can make us crazy as creators or writers. On the one hand, it's the perfect conduit to get our message out there and build an audience. On the other hand, we're constantly wrestling with algorithms, and the shortest shelf life for all of our content.

Why Are All The Creators Leaving Twitter?

Twitter Impressions are down. That seems to be the only thing I hear from creators at the moment. And yeah, it sucks. But it's not the first time they've gone through a dip, and it won't be the last.
